Canada makes the plea...Good for them.

I was pleased to read that PM Harper has made an official plea on behalf of Abdul Rahman, the Afghani charged with the heinous crime of converting to Christianity. Is this how we free a country, by ousting one totalitarian regime and embedding another? If Sharia law is allowed to prevail, then I say NO ONE has been freed. This man was found with a bible and is now facing the DEATH penalty for apostasy. DEATH!

The case is sensitive for Karzai, who depends on foreign troops to battle militants and foreign aid to support the economy. But he also has to take into the consideration of Muslims who support Islamic law.

About 99 per cent of the more than 25 million people in the conservative Islamic country are Muslim.

Two Afghan journalists were sentenced to death for blasphemy three years ago but they fled and sought asylum abroad.

So here's how they are going to save face with their crazy Muslim hoards while appeasing international concern. A state prosecutor told The Associated Press that Rahman could be found mentally unfit to stand trial.

"We think he could be mad. He is not a normal person. He doesn't talk like a normal person," prosecutor Sarinwal Zamari told The Associated Press. Moayuddin Baluch, Karzai's religious adviser, said Rahman is expected to undergo a psychological examination. "If he is mentally unfit, definitely Islam has no claim to punish him," he said. "He must be forgiven. The case must be dropped."

I say that's not good enough. Islam should have no "claim to punish him" at all. It's a cop out and proof positive that Islam cannot coexist peacefully with any other religion. It must be confronted and changed not only in the governments but in the mosques as well. This needs to be dealt with, but it won't. This man's life will be spared under the pretext that he is crazy and therefore not responsible for his "crime" of being Christian. And it will all go away nicely enough for America. But somewhere down the line some other Christian or Jew or Buddhist or atheist will pay with their lives because we've chosen not to do the right thing now.

One Muslim may be capable of freedom. A family, even a community of Muslims may be capable of freedom, but not a whole society of them. They cannot respect it. They cannot protect it. They would not fight for it, and they most certainly would not die for it. As a people, they are incapable of being trusted with something so valuable as personal liberty.

Then give them masters, and let them writhe and suffer in their stinking ignorant pre-industrial squalor. Take from them the keys to international trade and travel. Revoke their world citizenship and boot their sorry asses back to the 11th century where they long to be. Build a wall and let'em rot. Screw'em....screw'em all.
