If I want to eat pig, drink, dance, and draw unflattering caricatures of Muhammed.....I will dammit!

The State Department's self-abnegating statement last week in response to the Muslim uprising against the free press was a very sad display indeed. I'm extremely disappointed in the administration's stance on this matter. Spokesman Sean McCormack said

"Anti-Muslim images are as unacceptable as anti-Semitic images, as anti-Christian images, or any other religious belief."

Silence would be best but if anything The United States should say no more than defend the first amendment. The administration's inability to distinguish between slander against a people and criticism of a belief system is bad enough, but the refusal to recognize the first amendment right to write such criticism is very depressing. It's another example of our government squashing our own rights in a feeble attempt to appease the unappeasable fanaticism that is Islam. Arab and Muslim press is replete with hateful anti-Semitic and anti-Christian caricature, often depicting deplorable and violent acts. Yet we continue to go out of our way to keep from offending these double standard hypocritical tantrum throwing children. The prohibition against rendering a likeness of their prophet or against pork or alcohol or music and dancing is part of the Islamic faith. So let the devout muslims abstain. It is their right. But when they claim the right to make you and I abstain as well...well then their true intent is revealed, isn't it?
