Like pigs in a trough...

In 1906 the founder of the Missouri School of Journalism, Walter Williams wrote the Journalist’s Creed. It is to the journalist what the Hippocratic Oath is to the physician…a standard…a code of ethics for professional practice and conduct. Yet, very much like the regularly discarded Hippocratic Oath, this creed has faded away in antiquity. In actuality, it is no longer a creed so much as a relic. It is quickly forgotten and almost never practiced in such Ivory Towers as the New York Times, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and countless other tall dog media outlets in the United States. So too is it as rusty and unused by the academic elitists in an overwhelming majority of our nation’s higher educational institutions, regularly giving way to private beliefs, political bias and personal agendas.

Impartiality and fair reporting are incredibly rare and largely unpopular as they do not inflame the emotions of the reader quite so fervently as the over-sensationalized one-sided opinions regularly printed and broadcast by the "professionally offended" liberal media. Like pigs in a trough, Americans continue to gorge themselves on the fodder-filled slop of their daily rags and fish wrappers. From networks to newspapers, media moguls don’t care if one doesn’t like the taste, so long as one continues to consume. And boy do we ever continue to consume! Advertisers clog the airways and fill the pages in record numbers as Americans become more dependent on being spoon-fed their daily rations of rubbish. Television, Radio, Magazines and Newsprint…Email updates, Text messages, Podcasts, and Websites…The liberal media has more avenues of cramming their crap-filled political agendas down our gullets than ever before.

Liberals love it and gobble it up. Open to suggestion, Centrists seem to stand for nothing on their own and just swim with the lukewarm current. Conservatives and Libertarians resist but contribute nonetheless, if for no other reason than to stay abreast of what their opponents are saying. Regardless of our political, religious or personal preferences or affiliations, we are all caught in the vast trawling nets of the socialist media. Patriots continue to go the way of the dinosaur, and Americans are being systematically relieved of their Constitutional rights and liberties as they are fattened for the slaughter... and all the while, it is the media that cooks it up and serves it neatly on a plate. Eat up folks, socialism is on its way!
